Andy King’s love for Rock’n’Roll and Elvis began at the young age of 6 when on Sundays he and his parents watched Elvis movies on tv in Germany.  His love of Elvis’ music grew over the years so much he even learned to play the guitar.  Since the internet did not exist at that time, his knowledge about Elvis came from his parents’ stories and their love for Elvis.

Andy didn’t realize his talent for twenty years until when with friends at a local pub an Elvis song played. He began singing rather loudly along with the radio and the crowd at the pub went crazy and began to applaud. This sparked an interest in Elvis and his music. with the encouragement of many friends and family he pursued his natural born talent.

Andy continued his career as a German Federal Police when in 2003 a local band was looking to change directions.  This was a perfect timing for Andy to seize the opportunity for him and the band to join starting his first Elvis Tribute Band, “The Pelvis”.  Over the next five years Andy’s talent grew, and his hobby headed towards professionalism. In 2012 Andy turned his hobby into a profession, resigned from the German Federal Police and started his band now known as “The Memphis Riders”.  Andy’s band, one of the leading Elvis show bands in Europe, consist of some the top musicians.  Steffen Andres (bass), Jürgen Herb (drums), Ralph Stahl (guitar) and Frank Söhner (keyboard) compliments Andy King’s performance

Andy’s fascination with Elvis became quite clear, Andy stated “there has not been any other artist that has changed and/or shaped the history of music”.  Andy also stated that “not only was Elvis the ‘King of Rock 'n' Roll’, he has also worked in many other genres of music such as blues, gospel, country, rhythm and blues and rockabilly. He’s also the only singer to have been inducted into five different "Hall of Fames" - Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly, Blues, Gospel and Country”.

Andy’s real name is Andreas Stolzenthaler which was too long for posters and/or flyers, so he decided to use a pseudonym.  Being called Andy since childhood, he combined his shorten name "Andy" with the nickname of Elvis ("The King") and the artist name "Andy King" was born. At some point, he realized that the name Andy King did not have a connection or coalition to Elvis. Many fans termed him the shadow of Elvis since his voice was so much like that of Elvis Presley.  Andy added "The Shadow of Elvis" which was used for posters and/or flyers. Eventually he became “Andy King, Elvis Tribute Artist”.

Andy is a family man with a 6-year-old daughter and very supported wife, Sandy who is also a German Federal Police. They live in Sulzfeld, Germany.

Andy King & The Memphis Riders were awarded Germany’s “Entertainer of the Year 2017”.  This was not an Elvis award but an award for all genres of music.  This was quite an accomplishment for an Elvis Tribute Artist and band to be named the entertainer of the year for the country of Germany.

Andy King & the Memphis Riders, Moses Snow (US) and Shake Rattle & Roll (US) completed a US/European Elvis Tour August 2019 of Texas, Switzerland and Germany with sellout concerts.  It was a such tremendous success that they have been invited back to Europe for 4 weeks.  US/European Elvis Tour 2020 opens June 12, 2020 at the Liberty Hall in Tyler, Texas.

Andy also became a commercial partner of many name brands in Germany, "Lufthansa Miles & More", "Audi AG Deutschland" and "TUI Traveltalk" to name a few.

Andy has many accomplishments in the both the US and Europe.
